Where the girls are wise beyond their years. Where the race against time to the altar involves a Jeep, a helicopterand a horse-drawn carriage. Where both girls are effortlessly able to hide under orbehind anything, eavesdrop on everything, and make up plans on the spur of themoment.

"ItTakes Two" is the kind of movie where both the butler (genial PhilipBosco) and the fiancée find out about the other woman by spying her through aconvenient telescope. Clearly, Callaway does nothave his mind focused on marriage. Thisis obviously such an excellent idea, and Clarice is such a gushing phony, thatit's all the movie can do to prevent the inevitable until the final scenes.Along the way the girls set up a Meet Cute between Diane and Callaway,involving runaway horses, that leads to a food fight and a scene where theyjump into the lake fully clothed and almost kiss.
Amanda admires her social worker Diane (KirstieAlley), and both girls think she'd make a much better wife than Clarice. Amanda and Alyssaboth run away, are mistaken for each other, carry off the deception, and latermeet up and decide to conspire. Therich folks go to their country estate, which is across the lake from a summercamp for orphans, donated in memory of Callaway's late wife. And Alyssa's dad, a widower played byGuttenberg, is about to marry the hateful Clarice (Jane Sibbett), who plans toship the kid straight off to boarding school. Amanda is about to be adopted into the evil Butkus family, whosefather uses child labor in his junkyard. The films biggest flaw is that it tries to be something it's not, and ends being a pretty boring film and a waste of time in the end.Theplot, inspired by Mark Twain's The Prince and the Pauper, involves an orphanedstreet urchin named Amanda Lemmon ( Mary-Kate Olsen) and a billionaire'sdaughter named Alyssa Callaway ( Ashley Olsen). This is not a film worth seeing, and it is awful in terms of a family film. Also it's one of those films that haven't stood the test of time as so many other family films have. This film simply doesn't work as effective and memorable family entertainment. This is the result right here, a poorly made film that doesn't belong on the shelf of so many other classic childhood favorites.

They had one hit with the TV show Full house, but afterwards they never should have moved into feature films. This just suffers from overused ideas that we've seen so many times before, and the Olson twins are simply horrible. This is an awful film that doesn't work and it is a misfire that is definitely not worth watching. Add to that, poor directing, and overall an uninteresting idea for a film, and you have a film that is sure to fail. Director Andy Tennant can't craft a solid and memorable family comedy and the result is a film that falls flat due to a poor cast and story. The story is poorly thought out, and the film is packed with predictable clichés and no once of originality to really make this film a lot of fun for the viewer. The lead actresses are horrible, and Mary Kate and Ashley Olson could never act well in the first place. With a very poor cast of actors, this is one of those films that you watched as a kid, and liked, but years later realized how bad it really was. Horrible family film that has nothing good going for it.
